hub pregression

This was the state of the hub when my first presentation was giving. It was nowhere near where it should have been, and it needed much improvement.

Here is a more refined version. The colors are no longer Malibu, there is a title to the page and the tools on the side are more thought out and refined looking. I still have some tweaking but I think it has been improved substantially.

Here is a three dimensional model of a website. as the user rotated the site some of the spaces would appear and some would dimensionally disappear. The backs of the elements would contain different information. So, there would be one space and four different layers of information. So, one side of the object may be a completely different theme or set of information than the other, but could all be open at the same time.

some functions of the hub and an explination of nav.

The main navigation works with a scroll wheel. each of the icon on the wheel is connected to a specific page. once the user goes to a page and alters the screen it is saved for the session. This allows the user so scroll through multiple pages and multitask without having to reload the pages and the data each time. So the work flow that the interface that this interface is sped up and more intuitive you never really leave any page behind.

the map appears with three options, search by the danger of an area, search by the distance away from your current location, how much paranormal activity a certain place has, and then a search bar.

as data is entered locations start to appear on the map

and as you get more specific the dots drop off of the map

when you roll over a location it gives you a very brief synopsis

and a more in depth profile can be viewed

Paranormal site

Here is a new concept for the look and interaction for the ghost hunting community hub. On the right there would be a series of icons that would rotate to get to the wanted link. The button would pull the associated with it up. in this example the lower bars are turned up and down and locations pop up or disappear based on the custom input. there is also a search bar for specific searches. (yes, I know that it says parasite, I need to work on the naming conventions.)

the web is dead

The web is not dead. it has simply come to a point of evolution. There will still be the fast connections of pages, images, ideas, writing, art, news, opinions, and facts. There has simply been a change in guard. The desktop does not have to take the full viewing responsibility. The technology of trasfering this information has just improved. it has a better mode of transport and can come to the mobile devices. The page as simply a flat page is dying. The new web is a place where what you want is packaged on the screen and activated only for the seconds you need it. there is no more flying around the entire site or even a "site" as we know it anymore. we need to think of the internet as spaces, rooms that we travel to and once in the room we have everything we need to accomplish what we are there for. The internet is not dead it merely has turned into somewhere to go instead of something to look at

Community Map: Ghost Hunting

The alterations mainly involved giving the historical culture a more encompassing feel. Everything you do is effected by past events and we are products of them. Ghosts are also products of past events. This is the reasoning behind the way the circle shapes are formed from the paths that flow from the historical consciousness. Also, a blending of category is explained with new hybrid categories that involve both originals. The center is the actual individual. They are a product of all of this happening around them.
